Are you looking for peace in your life?
Do you know that God loves you, and wants a forever friendship with you?
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
Jesus, God’s son, came to earth to give us life abundantly!
John 10:10 Jesus says:
“My purpose is to give life in all its fullness.”
The only way that perfect and righteous God can have fellowship with you and me, is if we have the righteousness of perfect Jesus, not our own.
It is our inborn sinful human nature that separates us from perfect God. And no matter how hard we may try to be good enough to earn God’s favor and fellowship…without Jesus, we just cannot do it.
Take in these verses from the Bible…
We are all infected and impure with sin. When we display our righteous deeds, they are nothing but filthy rags. Like autumn leaves, we wither and fall, and our sins sweep us away like the wind.
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.
John 14:6 Jesus says:
“I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
2 Corinthians 5:21
For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin so that we could be made right with God through Christ.
1 John 2:2
He is the one who took God’s wrath against our sins upon himself and brought us into fellowship with God, and he is the forgiveness for our sins, and not only ours but all the world’s.
Really read those verses…
Praise God for sending PERFECT JESUS in the form of a human man to earth to take on our punishment for our sins so that we could have peace and fellowship with God and forgiveness for our sins.
When we believe this, we will want to start the journey of fellowshipping with God through prayer and reading His wonderful words to us in the Bible. Then, when we pray and hear Gods words, we will desire to make changes to our lives…to become more in character and action like God himself…through the power of the Holy Spirit. We will start to desire to replace sinful actions with loving actions. This is the process of becoming more like Christ.
But as long as we live here on earth, we will still struggle and fight with our sin nature. We need to keep praying and meditating on the Bible and growing in our relationship with God. He will not let go of us. He will keep helping us, and giving us the strength to become more like Him, through His Holy Spirit…until the day that we join Him in Heaven!
Remember, it is our BELIEF in Jesus and HIS righteousness God accepts. It is not our good or bad BEHAVIORS that determine if we will be in heaven with God.
Remember this too…that if you REALLY DO BELIEVE then you will want to turn away from those things that do not please God. HE will give you the strength to do so…just ask Him.
